About

An independent study resource for the CRCST exam, built for the person who already sat it once.

Why this site exists

In 2025, 15,369 people sat the CRCST exam and 5,286 did not pass. Everyone in that second group gets the same thing: a letter that says fail, and a bill for $140 to sit it again. HSPA does send a breakdown of how you did in each content domain, but only after you have already lost the attempt.

That is the gap. There is no shortage of CRCST questions on the internet, some of them free and decent. What is missing is a full length timed sitting that tells you which domain is costing you the exam while you can still do something about it. That is the whole product: the same 150 questions in 3 hours, scored the way the real one is scored.

Who writes this

Nobody with a name on the page yet, and we are not going to invent one. Plenty of sites in this niche credit "our team of experts" and name nobody. If we did that, you would have no way to check it, which is the same as it not being true.

What we can tell you is how the material is made, which is checkable today: every question is written from scratch against the exam content outline that HSPA publishes, every figure on this site carries the source it came from and the date it was read, and every change to the question bank is logged with its date. The methodology page spells that out.

When a certified technician reviews the bank, their name, their credential and the date they reviewed it go on the pages they reviewed. Not before.

What this site does not do

  • It is not affiliated with HSPA. SterileExam is independent. CRCST is a certification mark of the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, and we use the name only to say which exam this prepares you for.
  • It does not use real exam questions. Sites selling leaked material put your certification at risk. Every item here is original.
  • It does not guarantee a pass. Nothing can, and a site that says otherwise is selling you something.
  • It is not a schooland it does not sell anyone else's courses. There is no referral fee here from a training provider, because we decided against that business.
  • It does not sell your data. See privacy.

How it pays for itself

By selling its own study product, for $39, once. Not by sending you to a school for a commission, and not by ads. The full version is in how we make money.
