The CRCST exam is 150 questions in 3 hours across 7 weighted domains, and a retake costs $140. Free question banks exist and are worth using. What they do not give you is a domain by domain score, which is what tells you where the points went. Read from HSPA on August 8, 2026.
There is a decent free bank in this niche with over a hundred questions and no signup, and pretending otherwise would be easy to check. If all you need is questions, take them. There is also a paid competitor that runs a timed test with a domain breakdown, at about the same price as this one.
Free questions tell you whether you got one right. They do not tell you which domain is costing you the exam, and that is the number that decides whether you pay the $140 again.

The outline gives each domain a percentage of the exam. Three of them carry 21% each, which is 63% of the paper between them, so the order below is the order worth studying in. Each one has a page with what it covers and the sentence from the public standard behind every answer.
How to pass the CRCST exam, in order
Nobody publishes a passing score for the CRCST exam, so aim at coverage instead of a number. The path runs in one order: log the 400 hands on hours, study the 7 domains by what each one weighs, sit a practice exam that scores you domain by domain, and only then book the $140 sitting.
- Start logging the 400 hands on hours. They split into five separate buckets and they expire after 5 years, so the order you do them in matters. The five buckets and who signs them off.
- Study by weight, not by chapter. Three domains are worth 21% each and the last one is worth 5%. The seven domains in study order.

Are these real exam questions?
No, and that is the point. Every question is written from scratch against the exam content outline that HSPA publishes. Sites that sell leaked questions put the people who use them at risk, and we do not compete with them.
Who writes the questions?
Right now, nobody with a name on the page, and we are not going to invent one. Every item is written against the published exam content outline and every change is logged with the date it was made. When a certified tech signs off on the bank, their name and credential go here.
Will this guarantee I pass?
Nothing can, and any site that says otherwise is selling you something. What a full length timed simulator does is show you which domains are costing you points while you can still do something about it.
How many questions are on the real CRCST exam?
150 multiple choice questions, with 3 hours to complete them, across 7 content domains. That is the shape our simulator copies, because a practice test that runs shorter than the real one does not tell you what happens to your accuracy in hour three.
Do CRCST practice exams actually help?
Only the ones that tell you something a second reading would not. Answering more questions raises your familiarity with the format, which matters once. What changes your result is knowing which of the seven domains is losing you points, and that needs a test scored domain by domain rather than one total.
What score do I need to pass?
HSPA does not publish one, and any site that gives you a number is guessing. The cut score is set by an expert panel using the Angoff method and approved by the Certification Council, and candidates get a pass or fail rather than a score. If you do not pass, HSPA does give you a breakdown of how you did in each content domain, which is exactly what our report shows you beforehand.
