The short answer
On August 11, 2026 we moved 27 questions to the domain that examines them. We had filed them by source: OSHA bloodborne pathogens went to Departmental Considerations and the Spaulding classification to Patient Care Equipment. HSPA's published outline lists both under Cleaning, Decontamination and Disinfection. Domain scores had been crediting answers to the wrong section.

The full report, $59The rule that decides where a question lives is not the agency that wrote its source. It is where HSPA's content outline examines the fact. We had it the other way around: everything anchored to the OSHA bloodborne pathogens standard sat under Departmental Considerations, and the Spaulding classification sat under Patient Care Equipment.

Reading the published outline in full shows OSHA and bloodborne pathogens listed under Cleaning, Decontamination and Disinfection, Spaulding listed there too, and sterilizer load configuration listed under Sterilization Process. We moved 27 questions to the domain that examines them.
The effect on our own numbers is unflattering. Departmental Considerations dropped from 20 questions to 2 and Patient Care Equipment from 6 to 1, because most of what we had counted there was never really there. Until the move, domain scores on the practice test were crediting answers to the wrong section, which is the one thing the report exists to get right.
